Hardwood Flooring Buffing makes use of sandpaper in its efforts to refinish wooden floors. There is also buffing which uses a machine which rotates the wooden flooring sandpapers at very high speeds. Both ways make use of abrasive materials that gradually wear down the wooden flooring and bring it back to its original, bright color. Hardwood Flooring Buffing also includes staining your wooden floors with an acrylic stain which darkens the natural tone of the wood. Once it is stained, then buffing or sanding it is needed to bring and retain your new floor’s original color.

For those who may not be familiar with the entire process, it is advised that you take the first step by reading the entire directions before even beginning. This will give you a clear and concise view of what you need to do. Once you know exactly what to expect, you are on your way to successfully hardwood flooring buffing. The first thing you have to do is gather all the necessary materials and tools.

The first thing you have to do is gather some wood cleaning brushes, sandpaper and a hardwood flooring buffing machine. It is important for you to have all these things available in one area as you will need them for your project. You can either rent a hardwood flooring buffing machine from a local hardware store or, better yet, you can buy one for yourself. Do note that renting these machines can actually be more expensive than buying one.

The next thing you have to do is start the whole process by sweeping or vacuuming your floors before starting the hardwood flooring buffing process. Make sure that the dust you collect is swept or vacuumed under a fan to prevent the accumulation of airborne dirt. If you have already applied the stain then you can start by removing it with a wet vacuum. Next, use the brush to remove any excess stain and polish the floors using the buffing machine’s rotary wheel.

For the next step, place a drop cloth over your floor. Start by wiping down the floors using the cloth but only on the first thing that will come into contact with your hardwood flooring buffing machine. If this cloth gets soiled with water, then use another wet cloth to wipe the same spot until the water runs off. Do this for each part of the room until the cloth runs dry. Once the first part of the room is clean, place another damp cloth over the area and start the sanding process.

The final step for the wooden floors that you are buffing is to put on your protective gloves and mop up the dirt using a wet mop or a vacuum cleaner. Then, put on your rubber cleaning gloves and spray the floors using the water hose. Make sure to let the water spray onto the wooden floor and not onto the buffing machine. The reason for this is because the water will cause the wood to swell, which is not what you want to see happen.

Hardwood flooring can be a DIY project that you do in your spare time. It takes a little more time than if you were doing a real floor installation, but the results are definitely worth the extra time. You will love all the new shine and life that your wooden flooring will have once it has been properly sanded and buffed. Before you know it, you will have a beautiful new floor in your home that you will love to walk on every day.
